Souvenir from Bali by acquaintance. The latest album of
Inst-group on the move in Ubud, 6 members, mainly, Indonesian moved
from Java to Bali, and also westerner and Japanese are joined. Mainly
gong and recorder-Suring, plus percussion shapes like a jar, various
drums, Chinese violin, Taisyougoto (Japanese harp), guitar, marimba…
are played for this extemporized performance. That makes really typical
Balinese atmosphere. You can listen to detailed ensemble which is
different from simple healing music while studded with musical element
through island’s art like Kecak and Jegog. It is very nice that he
delicately recreated a sound space as mixed with nature and life sound
which is very much like his island.
